6 foods that can give you clear skin!

Have you been trying to rid acne? Clear your skin, have you tried drinking more water? Used different “acne targeting” products?

These are things I’ve personally been trying it seems all my life. After trying and testing so many methods I know now that it’s a combination of what you put on and what you put into your skin.

So below are a few additions to your diet that will help to clear your skin from the pain that is acne.

Brazil nuts, Cashews, Walnuts

Nuts improve skin elasticity but also fights off infections from pimples and relieves redness. The natural fatty acids and vitamin E present in these nuts also help increase skin hydration levels. They also regulate blood sugar levels and keep excess oil at bay, as such diminishing the appearance of acne.

For a glowing, radiant complexion and spot-free skin, increase your intake of oily fish, like mackerel. Each fillet is loaded with eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), both of which combat acne inflammation. Also, the high protein it contains can help to speed up the skin’s natural healing process.

Blueberries, Strawberries, Raspberries

Blueberries are vascular constrictors, meaning they help decrease redness for those with sensitive skin. Strawberries spur production of collagen fibers that keep your skin smooth and supple, thanks to all the vitamin C they contain. Raspberries, too, can protect your skin from the sun and skin cancer, thanks to their antioxidants and vitamin C.

 Broccoli getting prepared

A powerhouse vegetable rich in antioxidants and a great source of naturally occurring vitamin C and indole-3-carbinol. Indole-3-carbinol can naturally help balance the hormones that lead to acne, rosacea, and other common skin problems. Vitamin C plays an essential role in the production of collagen, a vital protein in the skin matrix involved in skin repair and skin integrity.

 Avocado fruit

A great source of vitamin E, which improves the elasticity and firmness of your skin. Eating Avocado helps the skin to retain moisture, it also possesses good quantities of vitamin C, which can be used to reduce skin inflammation, while avocado oil is thought to stimulate the production of collagen in the skin, which improves its tone and texture.

Glass of water to flush out toxins in body

I know it isn’t a good bit we all know how important water is when trying to get clearer skin. Dehydration changes the appearance, feel, and function of skin.

The skin plays an essential role in detoxing the body and water is the essential nutrient in this process. Drinking 2 litres of water a day is a good place to start, but depending on how you spend your day i.e., with exercise and hot temperatures. Drinking alkaline water is a great way to give the skin that extra boost from your daily water intake.

For skin health make sure you are not counting your coffee, juices, teas, and the like into your total water intake.
